About This Blog
The Usability Blog was created to highlight the best and the worse of usability from around the web and beyond. The key aim of this blog is to improve usability, we do this through two techniques: -
- Firstly we highlight poor usability and point out where things have gone wrong
- Secondly we provide examples and tips on good usability
This is a typical “carrot and stick” approach. If you want to be featured on this blog you can do it by either having excellent or terrible usability.
At this point it’s worth pointing out that I take a holistic approach to usability, and to accurately judge the success of a service, at least from a usability point of view, you have to step beyond the normal boundaries of user testing. There are many aspects that come together to form the “user experience”, and I don’t believe limiting the scope of assessment is the way to go.
